Fruit stalls a long the way from north Bandung to Lembang and Subang are selling Avocado, Banana, Mangostine but Pineapple is the year round fruit in the North of Bandung where you can taste the honey pineapple, only grow in the district of Subang.

The 36th Governor General, He built new hospitals and military barracks, a new arms factories in Surabaya and Semarang, and a new military college in Batavia. He demolished the Castle in Batavia and replaced it with a new fort at Meester Cornelis (Jatinegara), and built Fort Lodewijk in Surabaya

In 1811, Raffles  prepared the way for British invasion of the island of Java ( now part of Indonesia) during the war between Great Britain and France, then a Dutch possession.

Raffles remained in Java as Lieutenant Governor, At the same year he was knighted and appointed Lieutenant Governor of Bencoolen, Sumatra (now Bengkulu, Indonesia). 

After he returned to Great Britain when the island was returned to the Dutch in 1816, he published his work The History of Java (1817).
